You're always in control of the time. Search for instructors in your area, open a profile to see their live calendar, choose a day and time that works for you, and book. You'll get instant confirmation by email and can manage everything from your learner dashboard.
Absolutely. You can filter instructors by the type of car they teach in, so you learn and sit your test in exactly the vehicle you want, whether that's automatic or manual.
Each instructor sets their own hourly rate, shown clearly on their profile before you book, so there are no surprises. Prices vary by location and instructor. Many instructors offer longer lessons (90 minutes or 2 hours) and discounted lesson packages, which a lot of learners find better value.
Yes. Every instructor holds a valid state driving instructor licence and a current Working with Children Check, and their documents are verified by our team before they can take bookings. We also track document expiry so credentials stay current.
You pay securely online at the time of booking through Stripe, a trusted payment provider. We accept all major cards, and Afterpay is available so you can pay in instalments. Your card details are never stored on our servers.
Yes. The Driving Hub has built-in messaging, so once you've booked you can chat directly with your instructor to confirm pick-up spots, ask questions or sort out details all in one place, without sharing your personal number.
Yes. You can reschedule or cancel from your learner dashboard. As long as you give enough notice (see our cancellation policy), changes are easy and any credit is handled automatically. Last minute changes may incur a fee, which keeps things fair for instructors.
Yes. Many instructors offer bundles of lessons at a reduced rate, and we run Test Packages that combine lessons with test-day support. Any packages available are shown on the instructor's profile.
Test Packages bundle preparation lessons with your driving test day, including the use of the instructor's car for the test and a warm-up lesson beforehand. They take the stress out of test day and are available in eligible states.

The Driving Hub brings learners to you. You create a profile, set your availability, rates and the areas you cover, and learners nearby find and book you online. We handle the bookings, payments and admin so you can focus on teaching. You manage everything from your instructor portal calendar, bookings, messages and earnings.
We charge a flat 18% commission on completed lessons and that's it. There are no sign-up fees and no monthly fees, so you only ever pay when you actually earn. There's no risk in joining.
You choose your own payout schedule weekly, fortnightly or monthly in your settings. Earnings are calculated automatically on completed lessons (gross, commission and net pay are all shown clearly in your Earnings tab), and we provide tax invoices and earnings reports to make your bookkeeping easy.
No. Joining The Driving Hub is free. There are no sign-up fees and no ongoing subscription — we only take our 18% commission on lessons you actually complete.
Yes you're fully in control. You set your own working hours and availability in your calendar, block out times you're unavailable, and update it whenever you like. Learners can only book the times you've made available.
Yes. You set the suburbs and areas you want to teach in, so you only get bookings within the regions that suit you. You can adjust your service area any time from your profile.
Yes. You set your own hourly rate and can offer longer lessons and discounted lesson packages. Your pricing is yours to control and is shown to learners on your profile.
A lot. We bring you learner bookings, handle secure online payments, give you a professional profile, a live booking calendar, in-app messaging with learners, automated reminders, earnings and tax reporting, and support. You get the benefits of running a driving school without doing all the admin yourself.
Yes. The Driving Hub has built-in messaging so you can communicate with your learners directly confirm pick up points, answer questions and manage details without sharing your personal phone number.
When you apply, you'll upload your documents so our team can verify them: your Driver licence, Driving instructor licence, Working with Children Check, and your car insurance. If you can also act as an examiner or assessor in your state, you can add your examiner/assessor accreditation too. We verify everything before you can take bookings, and we track expiry dates so your credentials stay current.
When a learner books one of your available times, you're notified and it appears in your calendar. Because learners can only book the times you've set as available, bookings already fit your schedule. You manage upcoming lessons, reschedules and messages from your instructor portal.
Cancellations and reschedules are handled fairly under our policies. Learners can reschedule or cancel free of charge when they give more than 24 hours' notice, and any payment is returned to them as credit automatically. Changes made within 24 hours of the lesson are non-refundable, in line with our cancellation policy, which protects your time as an instructor. Credits and any refunds are managed automatically by the platform, so you don't have to chase payments or sort out the paperwork.
In eligible states you can offer Test Day Services providing your car and a warm-up lesson for a learner's driving test. Instructors in eligible states can also opt in to our Examiner-Assessor program (subject to admin approval) to conduct assessments. Both are great ways to earn more.
Our team is here to help. You can reach us through the support section of your portal, and we respond by email and in-portal. We want you earning, not stuck on admin.
